Acupuncture within Physiotherapy | Adjuvo

acupuncture

Acupuncture may be used as an optional adjunct within a wider physiotherapy plan. It is considered after assessment and only when it is appropriate for your presentation, goals and preferences.

Treatment uses fine, sterile, single-use needles. We will explain what is involved, check your medical history and ask for your consent before treatment. Responses vary and acupuncture is not presented as a cure.

Acupuncture within physiotherapy

Where appropriate, acupuncture may be considered for some musculoskeletal pain presentations as one part of care. It will usually sit alongside exercise, education and activity guidance rather than replace them.

We will discuss possible benefits, uncertainties, common side effects and alternatives before you decide. Acupuncture is optional, and another approach can be used if you prefer.
